Missing Link

Kakatapos ko lang magblog hopping
Napansin ko lang parang ang tahimik
Maraming wala
Bakit kaya?

Meh ganun!!! Lolz

Is This Love? - His Version (Part II)

"CHANCE"

It’s 9 o’clock in the evening
His favorite dish was still hot and smoking
But he walked straight to his bedroom
As if he didn’t hear his tummy rumbling.

Three knocks from his beloved mother
And a saccharine reminder
“Son, I prepared a square meal
Because I know you are dog-tired.”

He momentarily looked at his laptop
And made a short pledge
“I will be back in a jiffy
Coz I cannot disappoint mommy.”

While savoring his preferred meal
His fantasy was actively playing
Hoping that the world will conspire
With either FB or Multiply.

Finally, he turned on his laptop
Signed in and made a research
On the screen no photo was familiar
OMG! Where is she?

He clicked "See more results"
A familiar face finally showed up
He stood up with both hands in the air
Then his heart started shouting: dubdub dubdub…

He opened the girl’s page
With colossal enthusiasm
But the first thing he saw in her info
Turned him into a sour face.

Adrenaline Rush

I was not into sports. Well, when I was younger I used to play tumbang preso, habulan, taguan, langit lupa, siato etc almost every afternoon. But real sports? Nah! Today, I’m into Muay Thai – a martial art developed in Thailand in which blows may be struck with the fists, elbows, knees, and shins (source: thefreedictionary.com). It’s a vigorous workout usually dominated by men. :D

I started two weeks ago. I promised to my coach that I would come back Tuesday the following week. But I didn’t show up. Because I suffered from massive muscle pain. I couldn’t even walk the normal way. So I started having doubts. Nonetheless I wouldn’t want to put my money into waste because I have already availed their promo package which is equivalent to 8 sessions (No refund). The recommended sessions are 2 to 3 times a week. In my case, I came back one week after my first session (Wink).

It was fun actually. However, I must admit I didn’t anticipate the horrors of Muay Thai. In my mind, I just wanted to lose weight and eventually become slender (I am not plump but I would be happier to have my old clothes fit me again). Next was to learn basic self-defense. But as the famous saying goes “Success doesn’t happen overnight.”

Yesterday, I had my third training. It was still arduous but at the moment my body is still in normal shape and condition. I have learned that the major key to counteract muscle pain is not to lie in bed and rest. Alaxan is not even necessary. Stretching is. Stand up and exercise. I will come back on Thursday for my 4th session. Need to work harder on my kick and balance. So if there is anyone who wants to try Muay Thai, I would love to have a sparring partner. :)

Is This Love? - His Version (Part I)

"STATUE"

He is tall, dark and princely
Every woman’s ultimate desire
With his macho guapito look
Heavy burdens become placid.

He had not learned how to court
Because it's been the other way around
He was enjoying it apparently
But everything was just temporary.

One day while riding the MRT
Rush hour and indeed an elbow room
The girl who was standing on his right
Surprisingly turned him into a red statue.

All the girls he went out with
Suddenly disappeared on his memory
For the first time in his bachelor life
His heart throbbed so quickly.

Approaching North Avenue Station
The lady pulled her ticket on her pocket
The ticket accidentally fell on the floor
And landed on the guy’s left leather shoe.

The debonair hurriedly bowed down
Got the ticket and gave it back
The girl smiled and said “Thank you”
But before he knew it, she was already gone.

When everybody was already out
He was still oblivious of where he was
The only thing he could remember
Was a name tag on the girl’s white blouse.
(Smiling) : )

Alone

Do you still remember the first time you rode a PUV on your own?
How did you feel?
Frightened?
Excited?

I was both frightened and excited.

I was in 5th grade when I learned to travel all by myself. Since our house is miles away from my school, my mom had to teach me how to ride all types of public utility vehicles. We would leave the house as early as 4:30 am because flag ceremony was at 6 am. It was our daily routine for more than a month. Then, it became I and my brother until it came to a point that I had to stand on my own two feet.

When I was in that age or during adolescent period, I used to ask myself “Why did my mom allowed me to go here and there alone while those of my age were always accompanied by an adult?” I was envious to other children; to most of my schoolmates whose parents were always there to drop them off and to pick them up after class. I felt terribly bad when I would encounter a road mishap or I had to go to school on stormy days and I had no one to turn to because I was alone. Little did I know that my mom was actually teaching me a tremendous lesson.

Sometimes in life we have to go through some pain for us to learn a very valuable lesson. And that is exactly what my mom did. I have become an independent person because of her. Well, not at all times but at least I am armed with good amount of confidence. And because of that I am quite certain that I can go anywhere. Because my mom said “Kaya mo yan!”

In every journey, a threat of getting lost or hurt is a common scenario but definitely we will reach our destination no matter how tough and how long it takes. Similar to our Christian life, there are times that we wonder why God, the father, is not answering our prayers. We ask God “Where are you?” or “Why have you abandoned me?” Like our parents, God is a loving father and He does not abandon His children. When we are in a pickle, God just want us to strengthen our faith in ourselves and in Him. For the bible says “Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways – Proverbs 20:30.”

Listen. God is telling you “Kaya mo yan!”

First Love Never Dies

I miss the days when I was spending hours in front of this flat screen
Like a jigsaw puzzle I was trying to put the right words together.
My mind, my heart and my soul were in euphoria
I could feel the passion flowing in my blood streams.
I believe I have already reached the central point
But now I think I’m back to level one.
Upon realizing this I’m thinking of giving up my farm
And go back to blogging – to real blogging.
I have never envisioned this blog as an alternative to Twitter
I am really hoping that I can use this for a greater purpose.
But obviously I became unfaithful to my mission-vision
Got magnetized with the latest craze.
But there is a saying “First Love Never Dies”
And in this case I really think it’s true.

Guilty

Nagiguilty ako dahil may tila nagalit sa akin na matanda. Simpleng "Excuse Me" lang bakit kasi di ko pa masabi. Maganda ang hangarin pero nauwi sa wala. Sorry po. Sorry po Papa God.
